3 DAYS KENYA MASAI MARA

OVERVIEW

WHY THIS ITINERARY?

This is a 3-day safari that takes you to Kenya’s most famous national park, the Masai Mara. The Masai Mara National Reserve is one of Africa’s best areas to see wildlife. Game drives are a fantastic way to see the park and are available all year. If big cats are what you’re after on your Kenyan safari, you’ll almost certainly see them in the Mara. The Mara birds, which include birds of prey, come in a variety of colors and sizes, with over 400 species to choose from.

detail itinerary

Early in the morning, you’ll drive to Masai Mara National Reserve. It remains one of the few sites on the planet where wildlife may still be found in large numbers, as it formerly did across Africa’s plains and forests. The Mara features stunning seasonal migrations of many thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and predators as the northern point of the huge Serengeti ecosystem. Arrive in time for lunch, then go on a game drive in the afternoon. At the camp, you’ll have dinner and spend the night.

We’ll go on a full-day game drive after breakfast, with a packed lunch provided. The reserve is well-known for its resident black-maned lion as well as its diverse animals. It’s one of the few spots in the world where you can view all five of the Big Five on a morning game drive. Many cheetahs are so docile that they seek shade from the sun under a car, and some even climb onto the roof to obtain a better view of potential prey. Nearly 500 species of birds have been reported, including 16 species of eagle, as well as several hawks and falcons, 6 species of vultures, 8 species of storks, 4 species of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and 9 species of sunbirds.

We’ll get up at 6 a.m. for a game drive before the sun rises. We’ll return to your accommodation for brunch at 9 a.m. before departing for Nairobi. Lunch will be served en route, and you will arrive in Nairobi late in the afternoon.
