Itinerary
When you arrive at Bulawayo International Airport, our guide will meet you and take you on
a tour of the city. It will take approximately twenty minutes to drive, with a brief stop for
shopping if necessary. Then we'll go to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Matobo Hills,
Zimbabwe's oldest national park. We'll be staying at the Maleme Lodges, which are run by the
national park.
You'll have time to check in, unpack, and reassemble for an afternoon game drive through the
park in search of the rare rhino. We'll return to the lodge at sunset for a relaxing evening of
delicious meals, drinks, and time spent around the fire.
We'll be awake at sunrise to witness the spectacular color change of the surrounding granite
boulders as the sun's first rays strike them. After breakfast, we'll go game viewing, where we'll
see a variety of animals and birds. Matobo National Park and its surroundings are home to one
of Zimbabwe's densest leopard populations. We're hoping to catch a glimpse of this elusive big
cat. Rhinos are also seen, with our highest count being 13 in a single day. We'll stop at a
breathtakingly beautiful lunch platform to take in the scenery and eat a picnic lunch. On the
way back to the lodge, we will pay a visit to the grave of Cecil John Rhodes, a man well-known
throughout South Africa and Zimbabwe for his exploits. We'll return to the camp just before
sunset to enjoy the spectacular views with a traditional sundowner before another delicious
meal.
This morning will begin with a leisurely breakfast at 7 a.m. After that, we'll check out and head
to Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe's premier national park. The trip will take about three and
a half hours, depending on how many stops we make. When we arrive at the Hwange National
Park Main Camp, we will be served lunch.
We'll leave around 3 p.m. for an exciting afternoon game drive. We will go to the magnificent
Nyamandlovu Pan platform. Many elephants and a wide variety of game life may be seen
drinking here. We'll also have snacks and a traditional sundowner. We'll then return to the Main
Camp to freshen up before enjoying a traditional African BBQ and telling stories around the
campfire pit. We'll then return to the Main Camp to freshen up before enjoying a traditional
African BBQ and telling stories around the campfire pit.
We'll get up at sunrise and have coffee and a quick snack before heading out to explore Hwange
National Park. We'll start with a game drive to Kennedy, where we'll look for lions. This is the
neighborhood where the famous "Cecil the Lion" lived, and we may see members of his former
pride or relatives. We'll then spend some time exploring the plains, marveling at the sight of
giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and buffalo going about their daily lives. Following that, we'll stop
for lunch, rest, and enjoy game viewing away from the vehicle before beginning the return leg
to Main Camp for the evening. If we're lucky, we might get to see the Presidential Elephant
herd up close and personal. We'll eat dinner under the stars at the lodge tonight.
This morning, we'll have a leisurely start and watch wildlife from the camp before enjoying a
hearty breakfast. Then we'll head to the World's Natural Wonder, Victoria Falls. The drive
takes about two and a half hours on average. We will check into the Wilderness Self Catering
Lodge when we arrive in Victoria Falls. Here you can unwind and eat lunch (at your own
expense) or simply enjoy the scenery. In the afternoon, we will arrange a guided walk through
the beautiful rain forest on the gorge's edge, where you will be able to take in the breathtaking
views of Victoria Falls. This usually takes about three hours, and remember to dress
appropriately for getting wet! The mist is pretty cool, almost like a rain shower. You will
undoubtedly end up with some fantastic pieces to take home. We'll return to the lodge in the
late afternoon for a delicious dinner.
9;00hrs After breakfast, you will be able to refresh yourself at the hotel or visit shops in the
Victoria Falls city for buying gift for bringing them home, or you will be able to buy curios
made from the teak tree resembling wild animals, as well as many other objects of art made
from professional sculptures.
15:00hrs Luxury Zambezi Cruise Boat, A Zambezi River cruise is an excellent way to unwind
and enjoy the beauty of the river. Clients may be able to see a variety of game, including hippo,
crocodile, and elephant, as well as numerous bird species. The Sunset Cruise is a popular twohour river cruise that includes finger snacks, beer, wine, local spirits, and soft drinks. There are
numerous photo opportunities against the often-spectacular African sunsets.
19:00hrs The evening culminates with a delectable buffet dinner at the Boma restaurant. Enjoy
Zimbabwean cuisine while being entertained by the locals. As a prelude to dinner, guests are
invited to participate in a hand washing ceremony before sampling traditional beer and snacks.
