Overview
Join us for an epic 7-day safari in the infamous Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park.
Explore the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, ride a Mokoro through the heart of the Delta, and go on
long game drives through the Savuti Region, the Khwai Concession, and the Moremi Game
Reserve. This magnificent region of Botswana is home to some of the world’s most impressive
animals, including families of elephants and hippos, herds of zebra, antelope, giraffe, and
wildebeest, and the very rare and beautiful white and black rhinos. As beautiful as these
creatures are, lurking in the distance are some of the most lethal and graceful predators on the
planet.

Itinerary
We leave early in the morning for our first day of safari, heading to the Makgadikgadi Pans, a
stunning area known for its plethora of Salt Pans. Our first safari day is spent exploring the
Nxai Pan, one of the region's many topographic depressions. After the rains, herds of zebras
and wildebeest can be seen grazing, and the pans are also home to many antelope species,
including gemsbok and eland. We return to camp after a day of admiring the wildlife and
scenery for a fireside dinner and stargazing. Overnight and dinner at the respective hotel
After our first night of camping, we head deeper into the Kumaga Pans, where elephant herds
abound. This area is breathtaking, and the salt flats you're exploring stretch for miles, covering
an area nearly the size of Switzerland. Get your binoculars ready, because this is an excellent
area for bird watching, with over 350 species calling it home. We have one more night at camp
after our final day in the salt pans before heading to the Okavango Delta. Overnight and dinner
at the assigned hotel
As we leave the Makgadikgadi Pans for one last game drive, we return to Maun before making
the short drive to the Mokoro Station, our launching point to the Okavango Delta. We meet our
captain and board the mokoro, a traditional wooden canoe pushed through the delta's high grass
waters. On our way to camp, keep an eye out for herds of wildebeest and the occasional family
of elephants, as well as a variety of exotic bird species. If time permits, your guide will lead
you on a short walk before our campfire dinner and comfortable beds. Overnight and dinner at
the assigned hotel
After a hearty breakfast and coffee, we set out for a game walk this morning. It feels good to
stretch our legs and navigate through the wilderness after a few days in the Land Cruiser. You're
on safari now as we search for animals on foot, stalking herds of zebra and wildebeest as well
as the many big cats that visit the area on occasion. After a morning of excellent game viewing,
we return to the station by mokoro and board a jeep for a drive to the Moremi Game
Reserve. This area is rich in wildlife and has breathtaking wilderness views of floodplains,
lagoons, and grasslands that will captivate you. Overnight and dinner at the assigned hotel
After packing up our camp, we take a game drive through Moremi to the Khwai Concessions,
where we embark on a Mokoro ride through an area that will enchant you with its diverse
beauty, which includes a stunning landscape of forests, lagoons, floodplains, and islands
teeming with wildlife. Year-round game viewing is excellent, with resident species such as
lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and countless others roaming this magnificent landscape.
If you're feeling adventurous tonight, we can go for a night drive in the Khwai. Overnight and
dinner will be spent at the designated hotel.
We set out for Savuti after a good cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast, hoping to see some lastminute wildlife as we pass through Khwai. Our afternoon will be spent on a game drive,
exploring the variety of wildlife and wilderness that Savuti has to offer. Savuti is well known
for its predators, most notably its resident lion and hyena populations, and if we're lucky, we
might even get up close and personal with them. Overnight and dinner will be spent at the
designated hotel.
Unfortunately, our safari has come to an end. As we pack our belongings, we go on a game
drive through the Savuti area on our way to Kasane. The plains are always a highlight, and the
area is known for having a high concentration of predators as well as herds of buffalo, antelope,
and zebra. We depart for Kasane and your next adventure after a full day of game drives.
Odirile Safari's optional day and overnight tours to Victoria Falls are a fantastic way to cap off
