Itinerary
Today is the start of your Safari Adventure! Kruger National Park is a wildlife paradise, home
to over 140 different mammals, 500 different bird species, and 120 different reptiles.
Your transfer departs from O.R. Tambo airport at 7:45 a.m., and you will meet your private
guide in Hoedspruit, a town just outside the park, in time for lunch.
After lunch, we will continue in an open safari vehicle to the Kruger National Park's gates. We
will then take a slow game drive from the gate to Satara camp, where you will be able to see
your first Kruger wildlife sightings. Satara camp is located in Kruger's grasslands and has a lot
of grazers. Following the grazers are the predators, and Satara is known as Kruger's predator
capital.
We'll arrive in Satara or Relevant shortly after sunset, and your chef will prepare dinner while
you settle in and relax.
We'll be spending the entire day in Kruger Park today. We set out at sunrise to explore, taking
you to areas with high levels of animal activity and hoping to show you something magical.
Kruger National Park is home to all five of Africa's Big Five: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos,
and buffalo. It also has the most species of large mammals of any African park.
We will take you to a picnic site where we will serve breakfast with a view, and then we will
slowly return to camp so you can relax and enjoy the camp facilities. We will then serve lunch
at camp before embarking on an exciting afternoon drive.
We'll keep looking for Kruger wildlife and return to camp at sunset. Tonight, we'll cook
everything over an open fire, and you'll dine under the stars in our bush restaurant. Following
dinner, you will embark on a Kruger night drive. Many big cats, as well as hyenas, porcupines,
honey badgers, and other animals, are active at this time.
After breakfast, we pack our belongings and proceed to the Kruger National Park's exit gates.
We begin by traveling along the Drakensberg escarpment before beginning to ascend it. Our
first stop of the day will be at one of the Blyde River Canyon viewpoints that overlook the
Lowveld from the Highveld. We'll get a bird's eye view of the Lowveld we've been exploring
for the past few days before heading to "Pilgrims Rest," a very old mining town.
Pilgrims Rest has been designated a World Heritage Site due to its cultural significance, and
the town appears to be frozen in time. From here, we travel to Graskop, a small town where we
will have our own expenses lunch. After lunch, we'll go to God's Window, which has such a
beautiful view that it's thought to be God's window to see the earth. We get a clear view of the
earth from the clouds, and the view is simply breathtaking!
Tonight, we'll sleep in a resort at the Blyde River Canyon and take advantage of the amenities
on offer.
This morning, we'll take you on a short hike along the Blyde River Canyon's slopes, through
some amazing forests teeming with the most beautiful birds. We will then have breakfast before
packing up and meeting the transfer back to Johannesburg. We'll meet the transfer around 11
a.m., and you'll arrive in Johannesburg around 5 p.m.
