Tanzania Safari Options & Extensions
Tanzania offers an array of unforgettable safari extensions that allow you to explore even more of its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. Whether you’re seeking adventure or relaxation, these extensions seamlessly complement your main safari itinerary, giving you the chance to dive deeper into Tanzania’s natural beauty.
Balloon Safari Serengeti
A Hot Air Balloon Safari in Serengeti is one of the most exciting and memorable activities you can do. Embark on a sunrise flight that will leave you in awe and create memories that last a lifetime.
As the hot-air balloon gently lifts off, you’ll be taken on a mesmerizing journey, guided by the morning winds. From high above, marvel at the breathtaking expanse of the Serengeti’s vast plains. Witness the magnificent herds of wildebeest, graceful giraffes, and majestic prides of lions as they roam the land below.
Canoeing on Lake Duluti
Canoe safaris are a great way to have fun and relax at the same time, while you experience nature from another perspective – from the water! In this activity, you take your canoe to the small crater lake of Lake Duluti, close to Arusha town. Surrounded by forest, you can spot eagles, kingfishers and darters in the hour-and-a-half that you glide over the tranquil water of this beautiful little lake.
Chemka Hot Springs
Maji Moto, known locally as Kikuletwa Hotsprings, is paradisiac oasis amidst the Tanzanian savannah, offers captivating, Bounty-styled views, crystal-clean water and dense vegetation around. Located in 2-hour drive from Moshi (Tanzania) – the main climbing hub of the region – Chemka Hot Springs is the best place to visit after a Kilimanjaro hike or a safari adventure.
Chemka oasis is a unique phenomenon – it is the only place in Tanzania (and most likely in the whole East Africa), where the groundwater actively interacted with geothermal sources, forming a number of small lakes with warm, never-stagnating water, which purity is not inferior to the best Dominican or Maldivian resorts.
Walking safari Arusha National Park
A walking safari of 6 to 8 hours through Arusha National Park is said to be unforgettable. Guided by an experienced ranger, you get up close with giraffes, buffalos, zebras, warthogs, and blue monkeys while learning about the park’s unique flora and fauna. You, for example, pass by an impressive waterfall, the Ngurdoto Crater, and Lake Momella. And if you are lucky you will also see flocks of flamingos and the impressive Colobus monkey swinging through the trees.
Climb Mount Longido
Mount Longido is located on the edge of the town of Longido near the border with Kenya. It is possible to climb Mount Longido in one day, but it is definitely worth spending the night on the mountain and then reaching the summit on the second day. The summit is at an altitude of 2637m above sea level. The hike goes through a wooded area that leads to a rain forest higher up, and buffaloes are often seen here. Maasai warriors are your guide during the hike.
Horseback riding in Arusha
Go off the beaten track by going on a horseback safari with a guide through the beautiful untouched nature surrounding Mount Meru, at an estate located 45 minutes from Arusha. Less experienced riders will stay on wider, dusty paths, from where they can see wildebeests and antelopes grazing. More experienced riders can explore smaller meandering tracks, spotting a rich array of animals such as zebras, wildebeests, moose and gazelles.
Visit a coffee plantation in Arusha
The area around Moshi and Arusha is known for its many coffee plantations, and you can find many lodges connected to one. These plantations make for an interesting visit, as you can see how coffee beans grow, are harvested and processed into your favourite drink of the day. Outside the harvest season, you learn all about the different types of beans, what exactly makes the delicious coffee taste and how the beans are processed. And of course, you get to taste some of the most delicious, freshly brewed kahawa.
Je vous le recommande à 100%Posted on concy sVerified Serengeti and Ngorongoro with a great organiser!! We had an amazing experience In Serengeti and Ngorongoro. We spotted all animals living in the parks, even hunting cheetahs and the shy leopard. Muba is a lovely Tanzanian from Arusha, who speaks very good English therefore the communication was smooth. He is helpful and reliable. Prices are reasonable. Strongly recommended!Posted on massimo aquaroVerified Unmatchable number of animals spot We were introduced to Muba by some friends living in Tanzania for while. The price was very attractive to the point that we doubt it was at the level of others charging 300 dollars per day. We bought 3 days experience and we had the time of our life. The driver Kessie had the patience and the ability to find for a us a mother cheetah 🐆 teaching hunting to her cub. Although cruel it was magical at the same time to witness the killing itself. We have managed to see all the big 5 several times and very near. The food was acceptable and the accomodations either in ⛺ tents or lodge was convenient. Go for itPosted on MatthewSchirberVerified Best experience The owner of this company Muba was very professional and very helpful. I planned this trip last minute and he was very helpful and patient with arranging everything. I didn’t know what to expect from the experience but the driver was so helpful during the Safari. He had a bountiful amount of knowledge and we saw all five of the big game animals. The driver knew so much and really knew how to find the animals. He was also very kind and patient. If your wanting to go on a safari I would recommend this company, it was a dream experience.Posted on GonzaloVerified Awesome experience! Very nice and experienced staff and very well organized trip We did a safari with them in Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The staff was really nice. Our driver Frank knew a lot about the parks, animals… and was really experienced. The food was really good as well, and the chefs fulfilled every request we made. All of the inconveniences and personal requests that were done during the trip were handled perfectly.Overall a great experience, I would recommend to go with them on a safari.Posted on Laura EVerified A must in your life Muba made everything so easy for us, in one day he planned our safari trip and gave us the best experience of our livesPosted on antonio jVerified ESPECTACULAR Muba y Mike siempre preocupados para que la experiencia estuviera al nivel que se requería,y así fue un safari por los 4 parques principales espectacular!el guía curioso y rápido, para que disfrutaramos y vieramos los 5 grandes y además ver todos los animales posibles!! Muy muy recomendablePosted on Grégoire GVerified Wonderful animals in Tanzania Had a really great time in Tanzania's national parks. The guide was so nice and showed us all the great places! Camping in African remote campsite is such a wonderful experience that you should miss the opportunity to do it!Tips for travellers that are really curious about nature and want to so more than just seeing big mammals: show your interest by throwing a lot of questions to the guide he will surely develop a taste for explaining more :) take your time to spot and observe small birds too, they are so colorful and shouldn't be considered as a secondary part of the safari by the tourists :)Posted on Toby GVerified Sweet Safari Great tour guide, loads of knowledge and polite!Payable by card/cash and got to see the majority of the big 5
