Itinerary
You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel early in the morning and driven to the Masai Mara game reserve via the Great Rift Valley. There will be a brief stopover at the Rift Valley View Point, which offers a spectacular view of the valley floor and its beautiful landscape, as
well as Narok town for a break and refueling. Arrive in time for lunch; eat at the Camp and relax before heading out on the afternoon game drive. After that, take an afternoon game drive through the park in search of animals, most notably the wildebeest migration from Tanzania's
Serengeti in July–October. To spot the wildebeests, Zebras, Lion, Cheetah, Elephant, and Buffalo, Thompson’s gazelle, hyena, black-backed and side-striped jackals, impala, bat-eared foxes, baboons, warthog, Thompson's gazelle, Grant's gazelle, waterbuck, reedbuck, hippo, crocodile, and eland
As you explore this magnificent Park, you can spend the entire day watching games. The Mara
is a land of African legend: lions, elephants, giraffes, and a variety of gazelle and zebra species
abound throughout the park. Cheetah, leopard, and, less frequently, rhino are also common
sightings. The annual wildebeest migration, one of nature's few remaining wildlife spectacles,
takes place in the Mara from July to September, when big animals and their predators are
expected to be in abundance. The reserve is home to several species of Bee-Eater, the flying
rainbow that tops the list of Mara's birds.
After breakfast, depart with a packed picnic lunch for both the morning and evening game
drives in this reserve, which is essentially a northern extension of Tanzania's Serengeti National
Park. Visit the rivers Mara and Talek, which run through the park and provide water for the
animals. You will be able to see hippos and crocodiles here. The annual migration of wildebeest
and zebras takes place along the Mara River. You might be lucky enough to witness the
crossing and the animals' struggle for survival as they avoid hungry crocodiles and hippos
waiting to feed on them. Many members of the colorful Masai tribe may be seen in the Masai
Mara. Morans (warriors) loping across the plains, young boys herding goats, or elders gathered
under a tree discussing the day's activities can be found all around the park's boundary.
A visit to a Masai boma (homestead) reveals this unique culture and way of life. (Optional)
Take an early breakfast and go on one last morning game drive. Enjoy a cool morning game
drive around the park, where you'll have a better chance of seeing the animals as they graze or
hunt before the sun rises. After the game drive, check out of the camp as well as the park gate
and depart for Nakuru, stopping for lunch along the way. Check in at camp and then go on an
afternoon game drive to see one of the world's largest ornithological sites, millions of greater
and lesser flamingos, and over 450 bird species. You will have the opportunity to interact with
a variety of wildlife, including the park's endangered white rhino and black rhino, Columbus
monkeys, leopards, giraffes, and variety of plain antelopes.
After breakfast, you will go on a morning game viewing safari in Lake Nakuru National Park
to see the park's famous flamingos as well as other water birds like pelicans, plains game like
the Cape buffalo, giraffes, and baboons. After the game drive, check out of the camp and drive
to Amboseli, stopping for lunch along the way. You will arrive in Amboseli late in the evening
and will go on an enroute game drive to your camp for dinner and overnight.
Because it is strategically located at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, Amboseli National Park
provides unparalleled views of Africa's tallest mountain. The park's unique natural setting
provides a spectacular view and a home for the wild. This scenery includes acacia woodlands,
plains, swamps, marshes, rocky thorn woods, and a dried-up lake. The Park also has large herds
of African elephants, as well as lions, leopards, cheetahs, buffalo, and other animals; this
overnight visit allows you to go on afternoon and morning game drives in the park
After an early morning breakfast, depart from your camp with a packed lunch for a morning
and evening game drive.
During the morning game drive, you will most likely see a clear view of Mt. Kilimanjaro's
peak. You will have the opportunity to see the Big Five as well as other plains game such as
wildebeest, giraffe, and antelopes. Hippos can also be found mostly along semi-permanent
lakes and swamps such as Longinya. Open plains, extensive stands of yellow bucked acacia
woodland, lava strewn thorny bush country, and deep valley mountains such as Namanga,
Lameboti, and Elemborashe dominate the landscape. The Masai ostrich and aquatic little
grapes are among the park's birdlife. Among the many species are long-tailed cormorants,
African data pelicans, and goliath purple heroin.
Take an early breakfast and spend the morning exploring the park on a final game drive. The
early morning drive will allow you to observe the animals as they graze before the sun gets too
hot. You might be lucky enough to see some hunting. Visit the observation hill, from which
you can see Mount Kilimanjaro from afar, as well as the vast park and the animals as they graze
from a high vantage point. Check out of the camp and the park gate after the game drive and
depart for Nairobi. You will be driven to the airport or your hotel
