detail itinerary
When you arrive at Maun Airport, you will be met and assisted to the charter flight that will take you deep into the Okavango Delta. You will be greeted at Shinde Camp, which is located on a private island concession, and given time to settle into the luxury tented camp. Your first game activity will be a game drive with a ranger later in the afternoon.
It’s worth the early morning rise and shine to go on a game drive in this private concession just before first light. This time of day gives you a better chance of spotting the elusive leopard or the African wild dog, both of which are part of a research project in the area. It is also one of the best times of year for photographers because natural light is at its peak.
A hearty breakfast awaits you once you return to the lodge. The rest of the day can be spent relaxing on the balcony overlooking the lagoon with a good book.
After breakfast, you’ll be flown to the next lodge on your itinerary, Kanana Camp. Kanana Camp, located in a private concession known for its excellent water safaris, provides a broader range of activities than most of the other lodges in the area.
A light lunch at the camp will awaken your taste buds with the camp’s bush cuisine, which consistently receives rave food reviews from returning clients. After you’ve satisfied your hunger, you can enjoy the rest of the afternoon at your leisure.
When exploring on a guided game drive in the evening, you may be able to spot nocturnal wildlife and predators. After lunch and a siesta, join one of the motorized boat cruises into the delta in the afternoon.
On a tranquil mokoro ride, begin your day exploring the delta’s labyrinth of winding waterways, reed islands, fields of floating lily pads, and pods of hippos.
After brunch, try your hand at fishing for bream or tiger fish before embarking on a guided tour to see the area’s wildlife and bird life. Kanana Camp is tucked away within the Okavango Delta’s inner reaches, promising an abundance of unspoiled, thriving wildlife and vegetation to enjoy while exploring.
Your final morning in the Delta’s African paradise allows you to have one last breakfast before being flown back to Maun for your next arrangements.
